The perfect implant placement requires a perfect site. The bone should be in the correct position, and of an adequate thickness. The gum should be of the correct thickness and texture. In other words, we need a perfect site to be able to produce the perfect final result. The problem is a perfect site usually has a tooth in place. As soon as the tooth is removed, the site deteriorates. The site often needs bone and gum modification (grafting), to recreate the correct archecture.
